Job Description

The Cardiovas/EP Specialist will perform and/or assist with treatments, therapies, and procedures (including scrub assistant, monitoring and circulating) within the Pediatric Cath/EP department. Additionally, the candidate will rotate call, respond to callbacks within an established timeframe of 60-minutes for pediatric related invasive lab emergencies. This position will not require adult STEMI or vascular call unless on a voluntary basis.

Additional Training and Certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRCP) that will be functioning in all of the roles, (scrub, circulator, recorder, monitoring (Bard, if applicable) and mapping, (if applicable) will be required to become certified in one of the following:
    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
    • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
    • Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS)
    • Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS)
  • Registered Radiology Technologists that will be functioning in all of the roles (scrub, circulator, recorder, monitoring (Bard, if applicable) and mapping, (if applicable) will be encouraged to become certified in one of the following:
    • Registered Technologist Radiography, Cardiac-Interventional Radiography or Vascular-Interventional Radiography (R.T.(R)(CI)(VI)
    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
    • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
    • Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS)
    • Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS)
  • Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists (CIS) will be required to become certified as one of the following within 15 months of hire:
    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
    • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
    • Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS)
    • Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS)
  • Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab/Electrophysiology and/or Critical Care experience preferred.
  • Candidate will maintain PALS Certification.
